WHAT IS BATHTUB REFINISHING? To someone who is unfamiliar with the process? In many ways it is similar to a paint job and body work to your car. You can reglaze “From any color To any color!” There is no Magical Liquid Porcelain. First, any obstacles like Shower Doors will need to be removed to access the surface. This can be done by the customer if they feel handy? Or our Technician can do it for a separate charge. If the surface has been painted or refinished before *(look for peeling, flaking, 2 different layers of color), the old paint will need to be chemically stripped so that we start with the original surface for adhesion purposes. You don’t want to put new paint over old peeling paint! The Surface is then thoroughly cleaned with a Heavy Duty Industrial Cleaner which removes any impurities and etches the porcelain to ensure proper adhesion. Next the surface is sanded to additionally prepare it to receive the new material.
